Why volunteer?

Volunteering with the Lothian Autistic Society gives you a great opportunity to make a real difference in peoples lives. You will be able to gain valuable experience working with children and young people with autism. Volunteers can also access the same training programme as our Support Workers. It is a chance to meet new people, have fun and learn new skills.

Doing the Holiday Activity Programme this year was such a lovely experience as I got to see children come out of their shells, doing things out of their comfort zone and making friends. To be able to facilitate that was such a great moment, and it confirmed that working with additional needs children is what I would like to do in my career” Rachel

Current opportunities

All of our services benefit from the support of volunteers. If you are looking to volunteer directly with the children and young people we have evening, weekend and holiday opportunities available in Edinburgh, East Lothian and West Lothian. We also value the support of volunteers outwith our services. We have opportunities available for those who would like to volunteer in our office or give us support with our website and social media pages.

How to get involved

If you would like to volunteer with us or simply just find out more about our opportunities please contact Care and Support Manager Amanda Sinclair via a.sinclair@lothianautistic.org.
