As a parent, one of the most valuable sources of support and information is available through direct contact with other parents. Parents of children diagnosed with an ASC are particularly vulnerable to feelings of isolation and many do not have the opportunity to meet other parents who have experienced the personal, social and practical challenges of raising a child with autism.

Through speaking to our members we have established that it is not only during the months following diagnosis that support is needed, but in fact throughout their child's development, as young people with ASCs can present us with new and complex challenges all the time.

The Lothian Autistic Society Parent to Parent service aims to connect parents in their local area and provide an opportunity for them to share their experiences and support. Call now to speak to the Service Coordinator who will arrange a call from one of Volunteer Support Parents. All of the volunteers on our team are experienced parents, with children at varying stages of development and position on the spectrum.

The service is now available Monday to Thursday 10 am - 1pm on 0131 661 3834
