The LAS Social Club was successfully launched at the Yard on Wednesday 19th September and continues to run weekly for young people with Aspergers from 12 to 18 years of age.

Our purpose is to provide places at the Club for up to 15 young people per week and for up to 5 volunteers per week, with the following objectives:

  • To enable teenagers with Asperger’s Syndrome to meet and socialise with their peers once a week independent of parents/carers.

  • To enable the young people to access a range of different activities geared towards social interaction.

  • To develop a programme based around the wishes of the Club members.

  • To develop activities and outings that are geared towards building members’ friendships, co-operation, confidence and self-esteem in various environments and social situations.

The club will run every Wednesday evening, 6.30pm-8.30pm and be held at Scotland Yard Adventure Centre. If your son or daughter would like to attend the club and is between 12 and 18yrs old, has Asperger’s Syndrome and is currently attending a mainstream school, please phone or email the office to register your interest.   We anticipate that there will be much demand for this club and all places will be offered in line with our admissions criteria on a first-come, first-served basis.
